Poetry Makes Me

Hey, I'm just a poet. Words pumping warm in my veins like similies. Bones are metaphores. And the rest, the rest hasn't been written yet....

Wedding

I do means to the end of always and forever
sweetest ice cream on hot summer days to rocky roads
Whether or not anyone approves
I do means I choose you
Eternally my nu nu
Even after hair has grayed
decades after we uttered endearment before an audience of friends and family
open hearts never play options to opt you old
as some husbands refer to their ladies

I do
means mulligans and maybes
Won’t be able to phase between these two lips
Which I offer chocolate dipped before we kiss
remised if I withhold the indulgent  taste
that shakes your sweet tooth loose
cause from you
I want cavities

I do
means that when we don’t understand
We never undermine
We unify
New minds intertwined
So when speaking in the first person singular our statements say us
Masoned bricks fortified with love martyred by keystones founded in trust
Hearts so passionately inflated that we burst out of proper speech etiquette till we bust
Exposing our souls for our eyes only to see

I do
means we transcend beyond a states of companions friends or lovers
God like connection with another
Agaped spirits abiding in hearts
And because home is where the heart is
we live within each other
Deadbolt bonded so no external naysayer shall dare put asunder
And shutter for the sake of anyone who would try

I do
Means I’ll devolve primal urges aggressive
Combat for your happiness like wars against terrorist
Both foreign and domestic
Cause ain’t nobody gone mess wit
my boo

I do
Means from death do us part seems like an ending
So upon releasing this phrase I pray in the Name for extension
Or guarantee that at revelation’s conclusion we’ll next lifetime into genesis

In the garden
Just you and me
Cause I do
Means
I  love you
